Bittersweet Symphony (Gin and Aperol Cocktail)

['1 ½ ounces London dry gin', '3⁄4 ounce Punt e Mes', '3⁄4 ounce Aperol', 'Garnish: 1 generous lemon twist']

Stir all the ingredients with cracked ice in a mixing glass, then strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with the lemon twist.
