Smoked Summer Tomato Basil Butter

['"2 large smoked tomatoes (see Cooks Note), peeled, seeded, and chopped", 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature', '1/2 cup chopped fresh basil', 'Kosher or sea salt to taste']

Whisk all the ingredients together in a small bowl. (You can prepare the butter 2 to 3 days in advance and store it, covered, in the refrigerator.) Bring to room temperature before serving.
